Most of the time, we only need to know what **City** you are in to show you relevant hangouts.

### 2. Precise Location (The "Near Me" Feature)
We only ask for your precise GPS coordinates when **YOU** initiate an action that requires it.

*   **Behavior:** The browser will ask for permission *just this once*. We use it to center the map, and then we stop listening. We do not keep this high-precision data.

We exclusively use **Google Authentication**.
*   **Why?** It is more secure. We never see, store, or touch your password.

## 👤 Profile & Avatars
 Your avatar is your vibe. We offer three ways to customize how you show up to your Squad:

By default, we sync your profile picture from your Google Account.
*   **Pros:** Zero effort. Updates automatically when you change your Google pic.
*   **How:** Click "Edit Avatar" -> "Use Google".

### 2. Custom Image URL

*   **How:** Paste any direct image link (ending in `.jpg`, `.png`, etc.) into the "Custom Image URL" box.
*   **Tip:** You can use images hosted on Discord, Imgur, or other public hosting sites.

* **The Old Way:** Texting 5 people individually.
* **The Hangout Way:** Drop a "Bat Signal." It notifies your Squad that you are active and looking for company. If they join, great. If not, no pressure.

## 2. Invisible by Design (No Public Directory) 👻
We are an "Anti-Social" network.
* **No Search Bar:** You cannot search for people here. You cannot look up your boss or your ex.
* **Magic Links Only:** People won't even know you are on the app unless you send them a link.
* **The Result:** A private, safe space where you can actually be yourself, because you know exactly who is in the room.

The "Bat Signal" is the fastest way to hang out. It is different from a normal event because it is **live, urgent, and spontaneous.**

## When to use it
* **You are bored:** "I'm sitting at a bar, who wants to join?"
* **You are active:** "Heading to the gym in 15 mins."
* **You are gaming:** "Hopping on Discord / Xbox right now."

## Who sees it? (The Magic Filtering)
Don't worry, this doesn't annoy your entire contact list. The Signal is smart:
1.  **It checks your Vibe Tags.** If you signal "Tacos," it prioritizes friends who *also* like Tacos.
2.  **It checks your Squads.** If you signal inside a Squad, only *they* get the nudge.
3.  **It expires.** Unlike a post that lasts forever, a Signal disappears when you go offline.

## How to trigger it
1.  Tap the **(+)** button.
2.  Select **"Instant / Live"** (or just toggle the "Live" switch on an event).
3.  Set your status (e.g., "Grabbing Coffee").

## What is a Heartbeat? 💓
A "Heartbeat" is a signal of life. It’s not just a "Like." It means someone is **actively engaging** with the event right now.
You generate a Heartbeat when you:
* RSVP "Going."
* Post a Comment in the chat.
* Check-in to a Waypoint.
* Manually tap the **Heart Button** (Pulse) on the event page.

## The Hype Meter 📊
On the home feed, you will see a "Hype Bar" or Heart count on active events.
* **Low Hype:** The plan is actively forming, or things are winding down.
* **High Hype:** The group is active *right now*.

## "Hype Building" (The Nudge) 🚀
This is the magic part.
If an event generates enough Heartbeats in a short time, the system triggers a **"Hype Building"** status.
* **What happens:** It sends a notification to invited guests who are still "On the Fence" (Tentative or Invite Received).
* **The Goal:** It’s a "FOMO for Good" signal. It tells you, *"Hey, this is actually happening. You should probably get off the couch."*

We want to remove the friction of decision-making. If you see the meter spiking, you know it's a good time to head over.

* **Best for:** Recurring plans and group chatter.
* **Privacy:** Events created for a Squad are **invisible** to anyone outside of it. Even your other friends won't know the event exists.

Want to invite someone to a Squad event (like a +1) without adding them to the Squad?
Just use the **"Share Invite"** link on the event. They get a "Guest Pass" to see that specific event, but they won't gain access to the rest of the Squad's history.

There are two types of Squads: **CLUBHOUSE (COLLAB)** and **PERSONAL (PRIVATE)**. You can now formally invite people to CLUBHOUSE squads. When unfriending someone, you will only be removed from PRIVATE squads, and your CLUBHOUSE membership will be preserved. RSVPs to hangouts will not be deleted if the hangouts are posted to COLLAB squads.

# The Host Guide: Managing Your Hangout

Creating an event is just the start. The Hangout Spot gives you a suite of "Power Tools" to manage the night, round up stragglers, and keep the energy high.

## 1. The Nudge (Vibe Check) 👋
Getting people to RSVP is like herding cats. Instead of texting them individually, use the **Nudge** button.

### How it works
The Nudge sends a gentle "Vibe Check" notification to **invited guests who haven't RSVP'd yet.** It ignores anyone who has already said "Yes" or "No."

### The Rules (Anti-Spam)
To keep your friends from hating you, the Nudge button has safety locks:
* **72-Hour Window:** You can only nudge when the event is less than 3 days away.
* **24-Hour Cooldown:** You can only nudge once per day.
* **Squads Only:** This feature is designed for Squad events where you invited a specific circle.

## 2. The Scoreboard 🎲
Hosting a Game Night? Don't use a napkin.
* Tap **"Scoreboard"** on your event page to track wins/losses for the night.
* Any guest can add a game (e.g., "Catan", "Darts").
* The scores are saved to the event history forever (perfect for settling future arguments).

## 3. The Toast (Ending the Event) 🥂
When the night is over, don't leave the event "Live" forever.
* Tap **"Toast & End"** to close the event.
* This moves the hangout to the "Past" tab and stops any new "Hype" notifications.
* You can leave a final "Thank You" message that everyone gets as a notification.

## 4. Privacy & The Guest List 🕵️‍♂️
Your guest list is smarter than a normal social network.
* **Friends:** See each other's full profiles.
* **Strangers:** If you invite two different friend groups who don't know each other, they will see "Guest" or a limited profile. We protect their privacy until they decide to connect.

## 5. Tags & Discovery 🏷️
The tags you pick (e.g., `Tacos`, `Hiking`) aren't just for show.
* **Clickable:** Guests can click a tag to see *other* events with that same vibe.
* **Vibe Check:** If you host a "Public" or "Open House" event, these tags help the Bat Signal find friends with matching interests.

Sometimes you are free to hang out, but you don't want to send a "Bat Signal" and wake everyone up. You just want to put out a sign that says, *"I'm around."*

That is what the **Passive Beacon** is for.

## What is it?
Think of it like the "Status" on 90s instant messengers (AIM/MSN), but designed for the real world.
* **It is Quiet:** It does NOT send a push notification. It simply puts a "Ring" around your avatar on the home feed.
* **It is Temporary:** You set a timer (e.g., 2 hours). When the timer runs out, the status vanishes. No more "Online" statuses from 3 days ago.
* **It is Actionable:** Friends can tap your status to instantly invite you to a plan.

## How to Set a Beacon
1.  Tap your **Avatar** (or the Status Ring) on the home feed.
2.  **Pick a Vibe:** Are you *Bored*, *Active*, *Gaming*, or just *Vibing*?
3.  **Add a Message:** "At the library," "Looking for a 4th player," or "Tacos?"
4.  **Set a Timer:** Choose how long you want to be "available" (Max 4 hours).

## The "Let's Hang" Button ⚡
Here is the best part. When a friend sees your status and taps it, they see a big **"Let's Hang"** button.

Clicking this automatically:
1.  Opens the "Create Hangout" screen.
2.  **Auto-adds you** to the invite list.
3.  Pre-fills the vibe based on your status (e.g., if you are "Eating," it suggests a Dinner plan).

## When to use it
* **The "Coffee Shop" Scenario:** You are working at a cafe for 3 hours. Set a *Focused* status: "Working at Starbucks." If a friend is nearby, they might drop in.
* **The "Lobby" Scenario:** You are playing video games but have an open slot. Set a *Gaming* status: "Need 1 more for Ranked."
* **The "Bored" Scenario:** You have no plans for the afternoon. Set a *Bored* status: "Save me from boredom."

We've all been there. You plan a **Dinner for 6**. You send the invite.

Suddenly, your table for 6 has 9 people, and you're scrambling for reservations.

## The Fix: Smart Capacity

Now, when creating a Hangout, you can set a **Max Attendee Limit**.
Once that limit is hit, the velvet rope goes up.

### How it works

1.  **Strict Cap:** If you set the limit to 6, the 7th person to RSVP is automatically placed on the **Waitlist**.
2.  **Visual Feedback:** They see a specialized badge: `⏳ Waitlist Position #1`.
3.  **No Confusion:** The host clearly sees who is "In" and who is "Waiting." No more overbooking.

## The "Auto-Promote" Engine 🎟️

The best part? You don't have to manage the door.

If a confirmed guest cancels their RSVP (because, life happens), the system **automatically promotes** the first person on the waitlist.

*   **Instant Notification:** The promoted guest gets a "You're In!" alert.
*   **Zero Admin:** The host doesn't have to lift a finger. The roster stays full, but never overstays its welcome.

## Fairness First

We handle the awkwardness so you don't have to. The "First-Come, First-Served" logic is transparent. If you snooze, you lose... but you might still get lucky if a spot opens up!

2. **Add Stops:** Search for locations or drop pins for each venue.
3. **Set Times:** Give guests a rough idea of when you'll be at each spot (e.g., "Lunch at 1:00 PM").

We don't track your live GPS location. That breeds battery anxiety and privacy concerns. Instead, the **Host controls the flow**:
